FAQs

01. Do I need a trained nurse or is a caregiver enough?

Most families find that a caregiver is sufficient for daily living assistance, such as feeding, hygiene, and mobility support. A professional nurse is typically only required if your loved one needs clinical medical procedures like injections, complex wound dressing, or specialized clinical monitoring. During our consultation, we can help you assess the level of care required for your specific situation.

Under Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations, helpers are generally not permitted to perform clinical medical procedures. Their role is to assist with daily care and activities of living. However, through our specialized training programmes, we can equip helpers with the skills to perform non-clinical support—such as assisted feeding or safe lifting—ensuring they provide safe and reliable care within legal limits.

It is very common for seniors to be resistant to new help at first. Our caregivers are trained to handle these situations with patience and empathy. They focus on building trust gradually, respecting your loved one’s boundaries, and using gentle encouragement to ensure the transition to having help is as comfortable as possible for everyone.

The relationship between a caregiver and an elderly family member is deeply personal. If you feel the placement is not a good fit, our agency will work closely with you to understand the issues and find a more suitable replacement. Our goal is to ensure your loved one receives care from someone they are comfortable with and who meets your household’s specific needs.
